Mozilla Firefox is a very popular and open source web browser. Firefox has a large number of users worldwide. But still many of them don’t know about Mozilla FireFox’s Most Useful Tips & Tricks. Yes, Firefox has some very useful and important tips and tricks that every user should be aware of it. Today I’m writing about 10 Most Useful Firefox Tips & Tricks. These tricks are not known by every one, but those who use them can increase their working speed and can make their Mozilla Firefox experience much better. 10 Most Useful Firefox Tips & Tricks:

1. Increase Screen Space:

Increase the space of Firefox screen by getting small icons. For this, go to View –> Toolbars –> Customize –> Check the Use Small Icons box. This Firefox tip can increase your browser space a little bit.

2. Smart Keyword Search:

Firefox has the function to make the searching process more speedy. If you use any website’s search box alot (for example Wikipedia’s search box), then you can Right click on the Search Box –> select Add a Keyword for this Search” –> Enter an Easy to remember Keyword (for example “Wiki“) –> pressSave. Now every time you need to search any thing from Wikipedia’s Search box, you just need to enter the selected keyword and What your going to search. For example write, Wiki abc. This will redirect you to the Wikipedia’s search page for “abc”.

3. Autocomplete Website URL:

This is another simple tip from Firefox tips but is not well known. When you need to open a website. Just write its main URL, for example for Facebook, you just type Facebook and press Ctrl+Enter and it will autocomplete the website address www.Facebook.com. For .Net addresses press Shift+Enter and for .Org addresses press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.

4. Quick Tab Navigation:

Often works on too many tabs? Then this keyboard shortcut for your Firefox is very useful to increase your work speed. These are three keyboard shortcuts to navigate through tabs:

Ctrl+Tab (Rotate forward among tabs)

Ctrl+Shift+Tab (Rotate to the previous Tab)

Ctrl+1-9 (Choose a number to jump to  specific Tab)

5. One-Click Bookmarking:

Firefox allows a quick way for its users to Bookmark any web page. Just click on the Star icon on the right side of the Address bar and WebPage will be added to the unsorted bookmarks. Second click will open a small popup to allow you to customize settings of that Bookmark.

6. Keywords for Bookmarks:

Like other Firefox Tips & Tricks, this tip is also very useful. You can assign a keyword to your bookmarks and access them quickly. Right click on any bookmarked webpage and click on Properties” –> Enter a short keyword and save. Now when you need to visit that website, just enter that keyword in address bar and press enter and you will be taken to that website.

7. Limit Ram Usage:

If your Firefox is taking too much memory then you can limit its memory so you can get other tasks done also. For this write “about:config” in your address bar and press enter. Type browser.cache in the search bar and select browser.cache.disk.capacity. It is set to 50000 but you have the choice to take it down and set it where you think is right. For example you can try 15000 if you have memory of 512MB to 1GB.

8. Firefox Keyboard Shortcuts:

Ctrl-scroll up (decrease text size)
Ctrl-scroll down (increase text size)
Middle click on a tab (closes tab)

10. Delete Pages from Address Bar History:

Firefox provides you a speedy way of deleting a webpage which you have visited and is now shown in your Address bar history every time you type that website’s name. If you want to remove any specific page or any website from Address bar history then simple type the name of website, you will see all pages related to that website you have already visited, use up and down arrow of keyboard to navigate up and down. PressDelete button for any link you don’t want to appear there.

11. Undo Closed Tabs:

If you accidentally closed any tab and want to reopen it, then you can press Ctrl + Shift + T on your keyboard and get your recently closed tab again.
